Wedding Community's Picture of the Day

Today I am very proud to be featured on http://theweddingcommunityblog.wordpress.com/ - One's of the UK's foremost wedding blogs and resources for Brides.

Previous 'Pictures of the Day' features have been some phenomenally well known photographers and people i admire greatly, so I'm very proud to have one of my favourite pictures featured today.

It's this one: http://theweddingcommunityblog.wordpress.com/2010/08/24/picture-of-the-day-caroline-lavelle-nicholson-photography/

This Saturday - FREE Cherish shoot with pics included

Some of you may remember many moons ago I had the idea of a mass meet up of brides, with some photo's chucked in for free, just because i loved doing it. This initially came about through the ladies i knew from the Wedding idea's forum when i was arranging my wedding, but i'd like to open it up to friends too.

The idea is basically this. Everyone is welcome - within reason (please don't post this all over facebook - just to friends) I'm hoping to arrange a make-up artist/hair dresser to do some free maker-overs, as well as using the fabulous Cobham Hall, so we can all meet up, have a giggle and have some photo's done in your gorgeous dresses for free - you never know we may even get featured in the Wedding Ideas magazine!!

Previously it was mainly a bridal shoot, but I'd like to open it up to everyone. Brides in their dresses are the main focus as i love shooting brides - so if you are dying to wear your dress agian, i'm sure we can get you some fab pics, but i thougth it might be nice for the new mums to have some pics with babies if you like, or even the weight loss girls who'd like to celebrate their new hot bods, all while we get to meet up and have a giggle. Brides2B as well, you are all very welcome. My only stipulation is that you glam up - think SATC premiere, evening gowns, priom dresses, that dress you bought from Monsoon that you've never had a chance to wear, get your glad rags on ladies!!

Celebrating a bump!

OK, so I've been super busy, so the blog has taken a back seat, but I'll be updating more and more, so much you'll probably get bored, but hey, this blatant self promotion isn't going to happen on it's own.

My most recent one just yesterday was for a lovely couple, celebrating their impending parenthood with a 'Bump Shoot'.

Nichola and Ray McGuire, are about to be parents in a couple of months and i just love these type of shoots.  The brief was simple, Nichola wanted a 'back to nature' shoot, where should could really be herself and get an 'earth Mother' kind of vibe.  So what's more perfect than the most gorgeous bluebell wood, in the middle of nowhere??  Nothing, so that's where we went.

We had such a great day, and one of the best things about these shoots are when I get to go back to shoot the baby in a few months and the circle is complete, so I'm hoping Nichola and Ray will be calling on my services one day again in the future.  It's always such a privilege to help record such a special time in a persons l
ife, and Nichola and Ray were a fab couple to shoot.  Good luck with the birth Nichola and Ray, i can't wait to meet the new addition to your family.

Welcome, the Big Launch, and a Bridal shoot!

Hey everyone, Welcome to my website.  Well this weekend has been a very busy one, and i'm kinda glad it's over with now.  I've officially launched the CLN Photography blog and signed up to advertise on a forum I belonged to as a bride (for any brides out there there are loads of tips from fellow brides at http://www.wedding-ideas-magazine.com/index.php?act=idx), I've sorted my twitter and a face book page, and I finally feel like I'm ready for all this self promotion - just in time for my 30th Birthday - i thought that was a good time to launch!!

It's been a long time coming, and my hubby has been worth his weight in gold this week, helping me with my new dual screen computer system.  Big hugs to him.

Just waiting to hear about my membership to the SWPP, which I'm really excited about, and hoping to get some brand new kit before the month is over - very excited about that.  So all in all I've made a fair bit of progress with the business.  So keep an eye out on here for my favourite suppliers, discounts, fun stuff and news, it will all be posted on here.

On a personal note, I have some lovely messages wishing me luck with my business, some wonderful feedback, and a few enquiries, so hopefully, before the big 3-0 that signals my entry into apparent adult hood, and when I'm meant to behave, I'm hoping I'll have secured a few more bookings, perhaps for next year.  Here's hoping.

Anyway, as soon as I've finished finally updating the site, I'll get to blogging a bit more regularly.

The BIG Bridal shoot - coming at the end of August.
OK, so many moons ago i had the idea of a mass meet up of brides from the Wedding Ideas Magazine forum (this was before i set up alone as a Tog), with some photo's chucked in for free, just cos i loved doing it. At the time there was only so much i could say as i wasn't a business and dates were an issue, so we had to cancel in the end.

Well, I'm officially going for it now, so I want to get this going again. I've only ever met a few of the ladies on the WI forum, but also want to open it to any bride who wants to wear her dress again. I've made some great friends through the Wedding Ideas Magazine and would love to organicse a big meet up. I've already contacted Editorial Director, Rachel Southwood, fromt he magazine and we have her blessing to go ahead.

It's likely to be in the Kent, but still looking for venues that we can shoot at during a weekend, and it's likely to be towards the end of the summer - perhaps a bank holiday weekend, so people have time to meet up.  I'm so hoping i can pull this off.

Previously it was mainly a bridal shoot with the girls from the WI forum, but I'm opening it up to all the girls who use the forum or are on my Facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Caroline-Lavelle-Nicholson-Photography-wwwclnphotographycouk/52154274694?ref=ts). Brides in their dresses are the main focus as i love shooting brides - so if you are dying to wear your dress again, I'm sure we can get you some fab pics, but i thought it might be nice for the new mums to have some pics with babies if you like, or even the weight loss girls who'd like to celebrate their new hot bods, all while we get to meet up and have a giggle. Brides2B as well, you are all very welcome.

If you think you are still interested, then email me at info@clnphotography.co.uk or message me through the facebook group.

Obviously I can't make any guarantee's regarding venue or time, but if there is still interest I'll get it arranged.

The rest of this week has been a lot of fun, had a couple of shoots with some wonderful people and finally I've managed to get going with editing and saving all my pictures from my travels with my husband, through China and Thailand.

Have a lookie at my twitter to see a few images http://twitpic.com/1mfah4

I've also found a fab bit of software for fellow togs using Lightroom 3 - see here for help with watermarks and exporting images - donation is all that's needed... http://www.photographers-toolbox.com/products/lrmogrify.php, and got my new fabulous business cards on their way to me, all with individual images on them, very excited to get those done.

So anyway, I'll leave it there for my first blog, and hope that you'll enjoy future entries.

Hope to be able to meet some of you soon.

Caz.
